Dipak Ranjan Biswas has an excellent academic carrier with undergraduate from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, Nadia, West Bengal; Post-Graduate and Ph.D. at Indian Agricultural Research Institute(IARI), New Delhi. Dr. Biswas is an excellent teacher, presently working as Principal Scientist, Division of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. He had a long tenure of 28 years as teacher and 34 years as researchers at the ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. He has guided/guiding several Ph.D/M.Sc. students, most of them joined in the Agricultural Research Service of the ICAR as Scientist. It brings together the accumulated experience and knowledge gained during his professional career on the use and management of fertilizers.

Dr. Biswas is widely known for his work in soil fertility and fertilizer use and development of novel fertilizers. Presently, Dr. Biswas is discharging his responsibilities in the national level as the Secretary, Indian Society of Soil Science and Editor (Ex-Officio) of the Journal of the Indian Society of Soil Science, New Delhi, contributing significantly in shaping soil science research and education in the country since 2013. He has been elected as the President of the Section of Agriculture & Forestry Sciences in the 108th Session (2020-2022) of the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Kolkata. He is discharging his responsibilities as the Honorary Editor of Everyman's Science published by the ISCA.
