Recent Developments in Plant Breeding (Vol-II) aims to illuminate the forefront of this dynamic field, bringing together cutting-edge research and practical applications that can transform the way we cultivate crops. This volume delves into a diverse array of topics, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of modern plant breeding. From biofortification and molecular farming, which enhance nutritional content, to the exciting applications of CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, each chapter provides a comprehensive examination of the tools and methodologies shaping the future of agriculture. This volume serves as a vital resource for students and professionals pursuing degrees in plant breeding, agricultural sciences, biotechnology, and related fields. It bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, making it an essential reference for both undergraduate and graduate studies.

Dharm Veer Singh is in Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, College of Agriculture, Banda University of Agriculture & Technology, Banda, Uttar Pradesh, India. His research work is focused on identification of heat tolerant lentil genotypes through biochemical and transcriptomic approach.

Kamaluddin is a Professor in the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, College of Agriculture, Banda University of Agriculture & Technology, Banda, Uttar Pradesh, India. He did his Ph. D. from Institute of Agriculture Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He has expertise in plant breeding, transgenic technology and molecular breeding. Dr. Kamaluddin has published original research articles, review articles, book chapters and abstracts in different journals of national and international reputes. Presently, he is involved in the development of heat and drought stress tolerant pulse cultivars using conventional and marker assisted selection. Further, he is also working on development of varieties especially in small millets. He has published Plant Biotechnology: Principles and Application (Springer), Transgenic Technology Based Value Addition in Plant Biotechnology (Elsevier) as Co-Editor and Technologies in Plant Biotechnology and Breeding of Field Crops (Springer) as Editor.
