Dr. Nidhi Saxena is a distinguished legal scholar and researcher specializing in cybercrime, human rights, and intellectual property. She earned her Ph.D. in 2009 from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, focusing on “Cyber Crime - Misuse of Electronic Technology - A Legal Study in the Light of Human Rights.” Dr. Saxena has contributed to significant projects, including examining the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in human trafficking from North East India into Myanmar, funded by the ASEAN Studies Centre and the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and implementing people-centric e-Governance services in Sikkim under the Digital India Plan. Funded by ICSSR, Delhi Currently, she is researching human trafficking on the Dark Web, with a focus on youth awareness in Sikkim, funded by Sikkim University.
With a prolific publication record, Dr. Saxena has edited six books and published extensively in national and international journals. She has presented papers in national, international, and foreign conferences and seminars. Her work has been recognized for its contributions to legal scholarship at the intersection of technology, law, and human rights. Dr. Saxena has been invited to speak by the Sikkim Human Rights Commission, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Police Training Centre, and other prominent bodies.
Dr. Saxena is also an experienced educator, having supervised four Ph.D. and four M.Phil. students. She has delivered numerous lectures on cyber laws, human rights, and intellectual property at various institutions.
Active in professional organizations, Dr. Saxena is a member of the IUCN Academy of Environmental Law, the Advisory Board of the American Academic & Scholarly Research Center, and the Indian Society of International Law, among others. At Sikkim University, she has served on numerous committees, contributing significantly to academic and administrative functions.
Dr. Veer Mayank is an esteemed academic and researcher at Sikkim Central University’s Department of Law. He earned his M.Phil. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, with a dissertation on "Trans-National Liberalisation of Legal Services: A Case Study of India". He completed his Ph.D. focusing on trade and environmental policy conflicts. Dr. Mayank has contributed to significant projects, including examining the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in human trafficking from North East India into Myanmar, funded by the ASEAN Studies Centre and the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
Dr. Mayank's scholarly contributions include articles in prestigious journals such as the Journal of World Trade and extensive publications in international and national journals on topics like global health governance and environmental and trade law. He has edited five books, including "New Dimensions of Intellectual Property Rights" and "21st Century Pandemic and Society" etc. Recognized for his contributions to legal scholarship, Dr. Mayank continues to be an influential voice in legal research, advocating for reforms to address contemporary challenges in cyberspace and beyond.
Dr. Mayank is a prominent voice in academic conferences, presenting his research at notable venues such as the 5th Biennial Global Conference of the Society for International Economic Law (SIEL) in Johannesburg, the Annual Conference on WTO Law in Geneva, and the 6th Biennial Global Conference of the Society for International Economic Law in Washington, D.C. He has also participated in the Asian Association of Law Professors in Nepal.
Dr. Mayank has written op-ed pieces for newspapers such as the Indian Express and Live Law. His commitment to education is evident through his lectures and roles as a resource person at workshops and seminars, addressing topics like financial consumer protection and the intersection of conservation and development.
