The book offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary exploration of environmental systems, ecological principles, and the socio-political frameworks essential for sustainability and conservation. This textbook is thoughtfully structured to meet the academic needs of undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, and policy practitioners in the field of environmental science, ecology, and sustainable development.

The book begins with foundational insights into environmental understanding, followed by core concepts of ecology and the intricate relationship between biodiversity and ecosystem health. Subsequent chapters delve into critical issues such as environmental pollution, climate change, and the depletion of natural resources, presenting both scientific analysis and real-world case studies.

With dedicated sections on urban ecology, landscape ecology, agroecology, and ecosystem restoration, the text highlights emerging domains within ecological research and practice. Contemporary topics such as conservation genomics, environmental valuation, and community-based conservation are integrated to reflect the evolving priorities of global sustainability.

Furthermore, the book emphasizes the importance of environmental regulation, compliance mechanisms, and international policy collaboration. It also provides practical strategies for raising environmental awareness and engaging stakeholders through education and advocacy.

This holistic and up-to-date volume serves as both an academic foundation and a practical guide for understanding and addressing today’s most pressing environmental challenges.
