Dr Upasna Priya is an accomplished academic in plant virology, currently serving as Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist at Birsa Agricultural University, Kanke, Ranchi. She qualified the ASRB NET, demonstrating her academic excellence. She completed her PhD from Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, building on her strong foundation in plant virology established during her MSc research. Dr Priya is a recipient of the prestigious Prof MJ Narsimhan Academic Merit Award for her outstanding MSc research work. She has contributed significantly to scientific literature, with numerous research papers, review articles, and book chapters to her credit. In addition, she has authored a book, reflecting her dedication to advancing knowledge in plant pathology and virology.
Dr Abhijeet Ghatak is an Associate Professor of Plant Pathologist at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, with over 13 years of research and academic experience. He holds a PhD in Plant Pathology from GBPUAT Pantnagar and an MSc from BHU Varanasi. His expertise spans host–parasite interactions, root-borne diseases, and nanophytopathology. Dr Ghatak has contributed to multiple research programs and institutional building, and earned to mark patents on various aspects of plant pathology. He has over 600 citations (h-index 13) and extensive peer-review experience for reputed journals such as Crop Protection and Plant Pathology. He serves on editorial boards and has co-edited scholarly books. Recognized with the Excellence in Research Award, he has also developed farmer-friendly technologies and contributed to chickpea varietal improvement.
