Post-Harvest Value Chain Management and Logistics is a comprehensive guide that addresses the critical need for efficient post-harvest practices to minimize food loss, maintain quality, and improve food availability. Targeted toward policy makers, agribusiness professionals, academicians, and students, the book emphasizes an integrated value chain approach to enhance the sustainability and profitability of agricultural systems in India and beyond.

The book explores the entire post-harvest ecosystem—from handling, storage, packaging, and processing to transportation, distribution, and retail logistics. It analyzes the roles of multiple stakeholders including farmers, processors, logistics providers, and retailers, showing how coordination and innovation can reduce waste and boost value.

Special focus is given to modern infrastructure such as cold chains, digital traceability, and smart warehousing, as well as institutional support including supply chain financing, government policies, and public-private partnerships. The book also discusses regulatory frameworks, safety standards, and market access strategies that influence post-harvest operations.

Through case studies and real-world examples, this resource offers practical solutions and highlights successful models of post-harvest value chain efficiency. With globalization and climate variability increasing pressure on agri-supply chains, this book equips readers with the tools and knowledge necessary to manage post-harvest activities effectively and sustainably.
